WTB Proportioning Valve
I'm in need of a disc/drum proportioning valve for my '71 1/2 Ton 4x4. Anyone have such for sale or will trade parts for it. Anyone know what years will interchange? Guess I need to get a parts interchange book. Let me know what you have and total with shipping to 67152 zip.

67sss, that one is totally differant from the one on my 4x4. My son just got home from work a bit ago and has one that he got from a buddy at work. It is just like mine, came from a truck (72 GMC) that has not been running for some time. Brake booster and master cylinder still hooked together but laying in the engine compartment. Lines to the prop valve were all tight to the valve. Hope it is good? What goes bad on these things and can they be re-built? i will post a pic of my valve (same as my son brought home) later tonight. Says "Bendix" on the side.

Pic of the Prop Valve I need. "Bendix" cast on one side with "0411". Other side has "6" over top "096". Anybody?

Ironhorse, Classic performance (they have a website, just browse for it) sells new ones in the 65-75 dollar range. I got one for a 4-wheel disc setup from them.
Not trying to take business from anyone, but this is the only place I found new ones. Roger

raggedjim, is that for a four - individual disc brake - set-up at each wheel or for a 4 wheel drive disc brake set-up? Not sure of your meaning? Guess I am

Ironhorse, your son's should be fine.
You need one that is made for disks in the front and drums in the back. It will have the residual pressure thinggy that you need for the back but not the front. A 4 wheel disk or a 4 wheel drum prop valve will not work correctly in your application. I guess I'm hording all of the prop valves lately. I'm having the same problem.... but the one your son has should work for you. |
