Has anyone moved the fuel tank, 65 GMC?
Want to remove the fuel tank from behind the seat and put replacement between the frame. Anyone with experience on this please advise me of recommended replacement tank, frame location, fuel line route, filler relocation, guage problems etc.
Thanks in advance. Last edited by sebuttolph; 02-17-2005 at 07:54 PM. Reason: change the title |

I haven't done it yet, but I want to do the same with my '65 C-10. I saw an article about putting an early Mustang tank between the rails of a 60s Ford. Measurements are right. It should work for the Chevy too. Filler must go through the bed as the tank neck is on the top rear.

I'm putting the stock tank in the bed and putting another stock bulkhead behind it.
Not done yet but, should be pretty invisible with a tonneau on. Filler on top, all stock components. Just another Idea.

Will the stock tank fit cross-ways in a stepside bed? I guess i can measure it too.
