need opinions on blower scoop
motor is getting assembled now. trying to figure out how high i should mount the scoop. the first pics is how it will be mounted if i don't modify it. the last pics are how high i can go with it. i can add spacers between scoop and carbs to raise it up. and i can also add spcacers between the carbs to raise the carbs up too. mostly going for what will look best. keep in mind there will be some nicely polished carbs underneath it, not a wooden block, lol. let me know what you think.

are you really bent on cutting a hole in the hood? you're asking for opinions here, so i vote no hole.

well the blower won't fit under the stock hood. the carbs will fit under a 4" cowl hood, but i'd have to mount a remote aircleaner setup somehow to make it fit

Keep the scoop as low as you can, it looks alot better low. Cut the hood, they only made a million of them.

My thoughts are exactly as Randy's. Cut the hood and mount the scoop low.

I like it low, plus it makes looking to the right easier. That truck is going to look good which ever way you go.

buy a cowl and hide it....save the original sheet metal and make the guy at the stop light figure out just what's under there the hard way.......

i am so not the person to worry about cutting vintage tin! but i still wouldnt cut the hood, not for preservation, but for my tastes. i dig stealth. but that's why it's an opinion. bottom line is do what YOU like to YOUR truck. it might look cool and i'll change my mind!

Why put all that money into a Bad Azz Blower motor and not show it off? Cut the hood and raise the scoop just until you see the polished carbs! It will make everyone stop and stare! And thats what ya want dont ya??

I don't usually reply to the cut/no cut issue but this time I will add my two cents - CUT IT!! Like mentioned above, if you're going to have all that hardware, it would be a shame to hide it.
BTW - thanks for the "cockpit" view of the motor as well, quite a neat angle to take a picture.
