what year PS boxes will fit my k10??
I went to my local parts store and asked for a price on a PS gear for my 71 4x4, and I was told they don't stock them for vehicles that old. Now I know that later boxes will fit(or so i've heard), but I don't know what years to tell them so they can look it up. Any help guys? Thanks
Jason

What are you looking for ? The box or the Pully ? O have 2 stock Ps pumps with the pully here. I switched to a long water pump and they would not work for me. Any good parts shop can get you one I think the boxes cost between 150-250.
I think your post total is telling you somthing 383 ???

I am not sure of the year the power steering boxes were changed to the metric fittings but you should be safe asking for a 77 or older.

The only differences I have seen in the gear boxes is the small shaft that goes to the column is different sizes. Not sure which is which.

I am pretty sure a 74 box has standard fittings and uses o-rings instead of flared fittings, somebody put a old pump on my engine and I have an 85 box and it is different on the pump and the box, so now I need to find me a later model power steering pulley so that I can buy a later model pump to fit my 85 box.
