Got a gift from....

the other white bearded fellow(UNCLE SAM). Well, sort of....Being the responsible adult I am, I went and spent a portion of my tax return on an upgrade for the truck..What do yall think? Couldn't keep little man away from it! Looks like he may be starting early.

WOW!!! keep us updated, and a play by play install and review along with some driving would be AWESOME! I really want to try one of those some day.

Lucky you! All I get to do with my Federal Return is pay Local Property Taxes... Robbing Peter to pay Paul here.

So far looks like an intake swap, distributor rebuild and installing an o2 sensor. I had a throttle body set up before so I won't have to worry too much about the fuel system. Wish me luck, I think the tune up may be the difficult part. Oh, I have to figure something out with the throttle. Edelbrock says in the instructions not to use linkage but a cable throttle only. Not sure why? Whats it take to adapt a cable style throttle to my truck. I know our trucks had them.

Nice stuff there, but keep in mind that wasn't a gift from Uncle Sam. That was YOUR money to start with that he kept over the course of a year and did not pay you any interest on.

Your absolutely right. Bearing in mind my ability to save money, I choose to withhold more from each check. I consider it a non-intrest bearing savings account I'm not as good at saving as I am at investing (truck) so this works out good for me.

It comes with a controller. It has a lean/rich indicator and you can watch all the stuff going on with the motor real time(timing, injector pulse, water temp, air inlet temp, manifold absolute pressure, throttle angle and engine rpm..probably a few others I can't think of) It holds a base program in the "chip" and it looks like it has 3 more that can be saved to the ECU.

Remember me when the Airgap comes off...My Vortec heads could use something like that. Seeing how I haven't got a intake for them yet lol.
