transfer case drop
i'm trying to find out how far you guys have dropped your transfer case on a 87 and up era truck let me know what you guys have done thanks in advance

I dropped mine below the frame using the spacers that come on the bolts. Its about 1 inch below the frame now. Just be careful when you drop the case down u dont trash your distibutor. It will hit the firewall if you drop the case too low.The original bolts come with some sleeves on them. Thats what I used for spacers.

What kind of truck? Trany? tcase?
If you have a Chevy, you can clock (rotate) the tcase to move the front output lower. This only works on the newer tcase that has the single bolt circle and is easiest with a 208 tcase. The 205 has a notch for the shift lever so you need to make a new notch or get a 208 adapter and make a notch.

I wouldn't lower a t-case, especially using factory spacers. If you lower a t-case it will hurt you front driveshaft cv joint operating angle. If you use the factory spacers it will crack your frame, unless you just get groceries and drive to the mall.

agreed on the frame cracks by dropping it with that method. but as for the cv... the only good reason to drop the case is because the truck is lifted, so the cv should remain usable.
