62' shortbed big window fleetside
theres one for sale by me that has a pretty clean body, little to no rust, a built 350 w/ 350 tranny and shift kit. it has power steering. it has autometer gauges and lots of chrome on the motor. everything works right and it has a new windshield. it still has the manual drums all the way around. the guy wants 6500 for it? does it sound like a good deal? Also what is involved in changing the front out to power discs and 5 lug. i want to have 5 lug front and back with power brakes and a posi rear end and was wondering how much of a pain this is? thanks for the help

easiest way to convert is to use later model parts, from a 73 to I think 88. Rebuild front end components bolt on to cradle or replace full front cradle. Rear new ubolts, possibly brake lines. A lot of people don't check the pinion angle after a swap, if you have a vibration that's probably why.
As far as price goes, it seems a little high and I am on the east coast. I have bought 2 big window, one lwb the other swb fleet side with a 5.3/460le not hooked up. both pretty much rust free already 5 lug swaps, both unfinished projects but almost complete. The lwb was 1500, the swb was 3500. |
