switching front clip in a 62?

does the torsion bar front suspension on a 62 still allow you to do a bolt in swap on a 71 and up truck? I want to have 5 lug in the front with power discs and later put it on bags. Also, is the frame on 63-66 trucks a lot better than a 62 "x frame" ? thanks just wondering what all is involved in this swap

The crossmember will bolt on but you will have to do some shimming as the frame taper is slightly different.
