Gull Wing Doors
I saw a foreign car today with gull wing doors, that seemed really neat. They popped out to open, then they were able to swing up after clearing the body. Does anybody know who makes such a conversion? Doesn't matter if one's made for our trucks or not, I'd like to see the workings of it to try to adapt something for our trucks.

There is a company that makes them for pretty much any car now-a-days...
It is the same company that makes power windows for our trucks, along with suicide doors, I am pretty sure they are called "Auto-Loc" Here is a couple websites off a quick 5 minutes search... just type in Lamberghini Door (Lambo door kits) http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts....CategoryID/235 http://www.streetracinggallery.com/L...-Shipping.html

Yessir, XXL 'bout covered it. An old friend of my dad's had a gull wing Mercedes, and he had to be careful where he parked, because if anything was close to him, he couldn't get in or out of the car.

LOL! This was years ago, before the gull wings were considered collector cars. He was careful where he parked, just for the reason of getting the door(s) open, but he got hemmed in by other vehicles parking next to him a few times.

Lambo, not Gull Wing!
I was thinking gull wing when I did the post, I was wrong, the doors I saw were Lambo. I'm old school, the first thing that came to mind was gull wing. But, after thinking about it, gull wing would be easier to make up than lambo from scratch. Sure, watch out for parking, but I'm building an all out toy, not a driver, so parking way out would be normal everyday anyhow! Has anybody done gull wing on a truck or seen it?
And, as for Lambo doors, has anybody seen that done on 67-72 trucks? |

In the mid seventies, there was a car made in Canada called a Bricklin. Production was very short lived. For some reason, I think they had gull wing doors. My best friends Dad was working for them. He left Ford to take that job. Last I knew, he was writing technical books for HP Books. He wrote " how to rebuild your small block Ford". I still see it on the shelves today. Me and his son were freshmen in high school (1979) when he wrote it.
