Gear Indicator
Im sure this has already been answered but the search tool is down for now so i will ask again. where does the fiber optic cable that goes to the shift indicator plug into? thanks

Thanks alot, the wiring under my dash is quite a mess from the PO and im trying to get some stuff fixed.

i looked under my dash and next to the speedometer for a "white" bulb holder. i snapped a picture if you could point out what im looking for that would be great. thanks.

Cool, something I did not know. I converted my manual trans to a TH350 and did not know where to put the fiber optic light went.

now how would i swap that white bulb holder onto the circuitboard? also, because i do not have it does that mean my truck was originally automatic? i may be taking one byrd. ill send you a pm later.

If it was an automatic it would have had one.But they go missing after years of changing hands.Do You have the fiberoptic cable?The cable slides thru the tab on the bulb holder.

The pics are of the backside.They go on like the other ones.Yhe cable just picks up the light from the bulb.

I'll look for the pm later. as for the install of the fiber to the bulb holder. there is a little retainer clip that holds the fiber to the bulb socket. you will have to slip the fiber end into the hole in the bracket on the bulb holder and push the little clip on the bracket to tighten up on the fiber end and hold it. this is the same as the other bulb holders and will just twist in and out just like the one you will need to remove to install this one after you put the fiber and and bulb socket together. hope this clears it up . i do have the cable but the end that attaches to the dash was cut. i am going to try to find a similar metal piece that goes on the end so that i can repair this because it looks like the wire is hard to find. byrd once i find out for sure if i can repair my fiberoptic cable ill send you a pm, that may not be till early next week seeing as i have to work all weekend and wontt get a chance to touch my truck.
