1 ton quistions
i have chance at a 1ton truck for a really really good deal it is a 70 i think it is a 133' wheel base if I am correct there where 2 different lengths on these i would like to know, it is a flatbed which i intend to keep but it does have the factory clearance lights on the cab and the body is perfect and when i am talking perfect i am talking not even a rust pit. so help me out on this i want more information on 1tons

The longer one was 157", all those were cab-chassis duallys.

just think of it as a 3/4 ton with bigger (and much more expensive) brakes in back.
I recomend swapping out both the rear end...and updating the front end with something newer and more avalible. I spent over 250 bucks (with my discount) and didn't even replace everything. Drums are no longer avalible....wheel cylinders are like 60 bucks each... but other than that...it's just a HD 3/4 ton. Whats the engine/tranny combo on it? It may have the undesirable 4.56 gears. |

it has a 350 w/4 barrel carb and an sm465 trans, i didnt get a good look at the rear end because i did not feel like crawling under the truck that was covered in 4ft weeds and the truck has 16.5 wheels on it.

must be nice I just did the brakes on a 1 ton today the wheel cylinders here are $125.56 my cost, list at $187.20 if they only cost as much as those I wouldnt mind paying $60.-$70. bucks.And thats no lie I have the receipt.

It was a 69 it is the 1 im tying to find out all the info on as I have been asked to do a little work on it and I am finding out alot of stuff is different than other trucks.Yes im in canada and I have never paid more than $60. bucks for a wheel cylinder in my life thats why I said things are alot different on this 1 ton gmc.the part # on the origanal cyl is FC-34142 made by wagner it is a common brake manufactuor.
