Installed ece drop spindals, turning raduis question
I got my new ece drop spindals installed this weekend and two strange things i noticed. The first is that my tie rods dont fit. They dont extend all the way through the hole. I have a 67 that already had disk brakes on the front so i figured they were from a 72 so i ordered 72 drop spindals but the tie rods dont fit. Anyone know which tie rods i might need?
Second, i noticed that the new ece drop spindals have a turning bump stop the really lessens the turning raduis, anyone else notice this? Should i grind the stops down or are they that way because they have to be? |

Give ECE a call, I had the same trouble with the diameter of the holes for tie rods being a different size. They will help you figure out what size you have and the best way to make it all work (new tie rods, or they will take back the spindles and give you the correct ones.) I am sure there are at least three different sizes of tie rods end shafts.

The newer models sport bigger dia steering gear than the earlier models. I ran into that with mine. The PO of my truck (68 C-10 SWB) already swapped the steering gear with to a 71. My local NAPA dealer had a paper catalog that made things easier.
