'82 GMC backyard tub job ?s
i think the longbed is about due for some slightly more massive tire...so here is my idea...
i wanna box my rails and move the existing leafs inboard, switching the hangers and shackles so i could still use the stock pieces. has anyone ever tried this? i wanna do this and relocate my shocks so that i can run tire from bodyline to framerail. that outta let me run some MASSIVE rubber if im looking at it right. also, if i do this and do a flip at the same time will i have to C notch? thanks for any input later Dan

I talked to a guy with an S-10 and he actually swapped the framerails side to side to get the stuff in the middle...

Yes, it's possible (and old school pro-street on the cheap). Box the inside frame rails. Switch the hangers to the inside of the frame (drivers to pass inside, pass to drivers inside). Re-mount the pads that locate the housing & then the shocks so they clear everything. Do the flip kit & c-section, then cut the bed floor & add a section of steel to widen the tubs (part of another wheel tub works well cause it's already the same shape) or use aftermarket tubs for clearance.
