Quick ratio steering or Variable ratio?

Just wonding if any of you have had any experience using a quick ratio steering box on your truck? I considering using one on my SWB 72 but wondered if it might make the truck too touchy at highway speed. The other option might be a variable 16.1 to 13.1 ratio. I'm looking at units from:

Power Steering Services
Early Classics
ARG

Thanks........

I have the early classic quick ratio box on my C10. It took a full turn out lock to lock. It seemed a little touchy at first but after a few miles I got used to it. The difference could have been my 33yr old 130K box as compared to New 0 miles box. The biggest difference I have noticed so far is in turning around in tight places. Much less effort is required to get it turned around now. I don't really know if it was worth what it cost but I like it. You could always install a rack & pinion front end if you want a better feeling front end. Once again, very pricey.

Guys thanks for the informantion. It sounds like either choice would be good. Since ARG sells both types maybe I'll give them a call and see what they recomend. Thanks again...............Stroker

I talked to a bunch of people including the guys at early classic a while back. Everyone told me the same thing which was the 79 chevy truck steering box. Its a quick ratio box. I have it on my 72 SWB and it is awesome!
