What kind of tranny do I have on my '79
Okay, my title for my '79 says it was origanally a 1/2 ton but know it has been converted to 3/4 ton running gear. It has a 205 transfer case. What would this have come with for a stock Manual 4 Speed tranny. I think it may be origanal but I am not too sure. Thanx for and suggestions or info.

Most all 4speed manuals had a NP205 behind them. Some had Np203s but they are fairly rare.

its an SM465, there were a few other 4 speeds chevy used, but few and far between. if it is a 4 speed then it is a 465 almost for sure. the 203's came behind 4 speeds in 74 for almost all trucks and after that it had to be optioned i think
