Do you mean the chrome/stainless steel strip that goes in the rubber? If so, yes they are available. Not sure about the quality of them though. I bought one for the back window but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Can anyone else testify to the quality of the repo stainless trim? Might it be better for him to get an good used original?

Mike, if you are talking about the windshield rubber chrome, I have a new set and a used set.

Never from factory, I think you can get a roll of stuff from JC Whitney that will push over the lip, but I don't think it stays on very good.

At one time an outfit called Golden State Pickup Parts offered a stainless drip rail trim set. I think other venders might carry it. Try GMC Pauls or Ed @ Mothertruckers and perhaps other board venders.

Ask for Drip Rail Trim.

Keep us posted - Bob

20+ years ago there was a 69 or 70 CST that showed up here in the Denver area from the South that had drip rail mldgs on it. The only set that I had ever seen. The truck was loaded up with options and appeared to be original. I think the mldg however was dealer installed. At the time Golden State PU Parts in Calif. had the mldgs. for sale. Not sure if they still offer it or not. Good Luck

The mldgs are in the "67-72 factory assembly manual" and are listed as discontinued.

They were a factory option, and LMC has them too.

If it was a factory option its weird I've never seen any on any of the trucks I've been around. You'd think out of all the trucks one would of had it on them. This is very interesting, I'd like to see a glove box code or something on it. Not trying to argue just would like to see more on it.

It was originally listed as a factory option but was discontinued according to the factory assembly manuals. You can get similar stuff from JC Whitney and others. May be the last thing you want to do as it is just one more opportunity for the roof to catch and hold moisture. They already tend to leak at this seam over time. My .02
