Just bought truck and the fella I bought itfrom had new valve put in it, but said it leaked from the start, but wasn't too worried about it. It just leaks for a few minutes after you turn it off. I've looked closely at it and it seems to be a defect in the valve. Is there a way to bypass the valve altogether and just run one tank, there's five lines running into the valve.

Yes the correct way is to take the passenger side tank and hook up the return line (smaller lines) and the fuel lines and connect them (fuel to fuel, return to return) to each one on either side of the valve. When the switch is on the driver side then the valve is powered on. When power is off it autmatically defaults to the passenger side. Just make sure to check for leaks after you've attached everything. Also make sure to plug off the vent and fuel line from the driver side. The way I did this was to take a bolt on both sides and inserting them into the lines and hose clamp in place.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I replaced my 6-port fuel valve. It also had a 'very' slight leak on one of the riveted seams on the valve (when running on one of the tanks). At high throttle, I had fuel delivery problems similar to a bad fuel pump. I suspect that air was entering the fuel line at the seam. Fuel pump was $65 to replace with a AC/Delco.
