My question was, what all am i gonna need to switch from a short bed stepside to a fleetside box on a 71 C10? I am pondering picking one up for my next project. Thanks in advance!

Obviously you will need a fleetside bed. Then you will have to arrange with Putter to have your old step bed removed from your property (**wink wink**).
Where are you located? You might have offers to help you lift the bed if someone is close.

The bed will be a simple swap. Remove and install. Expect to replace every bolt looking at your location... rust sucks.
The wire harnes...if the fleet side bed comes with lenses and taillight buckets and the harness to them, then it'll plug right into the harness on the frame.

Welcome to the board from a little south of you in Columbus.
