Speedometer Problem??
What causes a speedo to jump around when I'm accelerating? Why doesn't it move smoothe? And What kinda of flywheel/flexplate does a 396 engine and a turbo 400 auto trans use? With the weight or without the weight? Thanks!!

your speedo cable probably needs to be lubed, just unscrew it from the back of the speedo.... you can try some light oil where the cable enters the speedo first... then if that doesn't cure it you can try the other end where it enters the trans... last resort is to pull the cable core out completely, lube it and re-install...

New speedo cables are only about ten bucks.
