Question Stripping Undercoating

Will chemical strippers work on underside coatings as well?

Oven cleaner if it is the goopy kind of undercoating. Can you scrape it with your fingernail? If so the oven cleaner will work.

Its actually pretty tuff stuff. Think it was put on at the dealership originally. Need to remove it, but don't want to wear my arms out doing it. Thought auto paint stripper might work. Thanks for the idea though
