Where is my oil pressure sending unit, and
what does the wire that is supposed to connect to it look like? It is a Goodwrench 350 crate engine in an 82 Silverado. Anyone got any pics?
Also, there are a lot of disconnected plugs that hang down on the drivers side up near the firewall--I noticed the same thing on my 84 C10 parts truck. The Silverado used to have A/C and emission control parts--both of which are no longer there. Could these plugs have something to do with those systems? Thanks! |

The oil pressure sending unit is a sort of bell shaped unit that is screwed into the engine block right beside the distributer. There will be a brown wire with a sort of a weather proof single spade connector that goes onto it. Similar to the wire that is connected to your brake porportioning valve bolted to the front cross member right under the rad.
The AC / emmissions will also have a fair bit of wiring associated with them. The AC will have two plugs for the compressor, the high pressure switch which will be a sort of mushroom like connector. The connector that attaches to it will be a single wire connector that will only fit the high pressure switch connector. The other connector will be the clutch wire, it will likely be a two pronged connector that plugs in somewhere near the front. As far as emissions wiring goes, they will all be two pronged connectors that bolted into the different solenoids (EGR, AIR select, AIR purge, and the canister purge solenoids)
