new exhaust and general showing off

just washed waxed and detailed the truck, and wouldnt you know i think its going to rain. well i got some pics cause i had nothing better to do, seeing as its spring break and i'm not working today.

last saturday i got my rear exhaust re-routed to side exhaust, looks and sounds f***ing great IMHO. i dont know why, but it almost sounds like it "pops" a little more than it did before, almost like a higher compression engine. got my new chrome bumper, only to realize i need the 110$ brackets and 25$ license plate bracket. being a broke high school student sucks. and now gas is like 2.50 per gal, and i get like 8-12 mpg.... alright, gotta settle down... whoooo.....

she just rolled over to 100k miles... but i look at it and think, hey! 0 MILES! brand new truck

Looking good. I too have the exhaust dump before the tires on the sides and get the popping sound too. I have rusty glasspacks and pipes. Not nearly as shiney as yours. Did you get special tips?

I remember when mine rolled over to brand new status.

yeah, they're 3" tips, the 3.5" looked kinda like overkill. i've got 2 1/4 flows. somebody told me the other day that flows arent good pipes because the baffles are only tac welded in, not fully welded and start to go to crap around 4000ish rpm. anybody else know about this?

well, i dont think your flowmasters will be blown apart inside because of high RPM's. but flowmasters flow like s%^$ overall.

very nice truck. great weather lately to clean the truck. but sadly "they" say its going to rain over the weekend! UGH! but we need the rain I guess. I have mine just befor the tire and it makes a poping noise. I thought it was just my crapy motor but it looks like I could be wrong . nice wheels too! got any other pics? congrats on the new exhaust! I know the feelings of being broke. and gas where I go is only 2.33 for ragular *arco*

thanks for the comments, and heres a few more shots for 79gmc

and sure enough, it started raining this morning on my way home from a party last night, and hasnt stopped since. we really need a 3 car garage instead of 2! well technically it IS a 3 car, but one space is filled with tools and a workbench and other crap. of course, my truch doesnt fit inside really anyways

one shot is the new bumper that i gotta get brackets for once i have a little extra $

Nice looking truck.

Have you tried a junkyard for the bumper brackets and license plate holder?

Some smaller mirrors would look cool.

haha, yeah. i've got the toolbox in there just because with the standard cab and all, theres just about NO room for stuff that you really need. cables, tools, blah blah blah that goes with an older truck. i'll end up taking it off this summer for cruisin for sure. and i've been looking for new mirrors, i just dont want to take these off and have to deal with the extra holes that are there

and 8t5silverado, thats a good idea for the brackets.

did all of the old chevys come with step bumpers from the factory or did some have the standard ones?

until you come meet our rez cops, you dont know anal cops. i would assume about 40% of their day is getting drunk/blitzed on the job and the other 60% is pulling people over that did nothing wrong and letting the people that DID do something wrong slip by. ah the good old indian reservation. it really pisses em off to see a 17 year old kid drive by in a nice looking loud truck, but not being able to do anything, cause i do the limit (most of the time ). i know it would make their day to pull me over... one of em sat at a stop sign for at least 30 seconds going the opposite direction as me at a 4 way stop, just staring at me and waiting for me to **** up. good luck guys.

a lot of these trucks came without a bumper at all. I think the rear bumper was an option. The new bumper you have will clean your truck up a lot.
