Quick question
How do I know if I have a short or long water pump?
Im bout to buy a bolt kit off ebay and need to know.

I believe if you can slide your hand between the water pump and the engine, it is long. Not much space if it were short.

If your alternator is mounted on the driver side of the engine, then you probably have a short water pump. If your alternator is mounted on the passenger side, then you probably have a long water pump.

Those numbers must be innacurate. There is more than 1/8 inch difference between short and long pumps on an SBC.
