2 questions about manual steering

I have a 68 1/2 ton non power steering. Would using a 17 inch steering wheel make much of a difference in steering the truck over the 15 inch I am currently using? And, would running a narrower tire make any noticable difference in easing the turning of the truck? Thanks.

Yes to both questions.

The 17 instead if 15 inch wheel is still going to be a little better when trying to turn the wheel when stopped because of the extra leverage of a 17 over a 15. Every little bit helps. When rolling, the difference between wheels are negligible.

The narrower wheel would help slightly, but not as much as making sure that the tire pressure is kept close to the maximum.
