WTB: working backup switch
need a new backup switch for my 71 with a 3spd manual. This is the switch that mounts under the dash on the column. feel free to reply or PM me. Thanks!

Have you tried to repair the original switch? The switch has a squareish piece of metal that slides into the column that is activated by the shift linkage. I have seen this piece of metal collapse from years of use. You can take a pair of pliers and reform the metal to something that resembles the original shape. Once you have done this, fill the little square with epoxy and let it cure. Once it cures check to make sure it slides back and forth and you should be good to go. I have done this more than once and it works just fine.
