E-brake help

I am in the middle of installing my e-brake system (PO did not have it operational) and was curious how the pedal comes back to it`s upright position when released. I assume it is spring loaded somehow but mine did not have one so I have no idea where to install or what size.

Thanks,
Bret

Talking

Here is a pic of the spring. It hooks to the end of the cable and to a 3/8" hole in the cross brace on the body.

A large spring between the intermideate cable and a spot on the back of the cab, pulls the cable taught when disengaged and keeps it from hitting the tranny output or transfer case rear yoke in a 4wd.

intermideate cable runs from side to side along the frame rails.
