Small block coils on a big block truck?

Anyone ever put small block front coils on a big block truck? Just wondering what kind of drop to expect if any, changes in alignment and ride quality. Thanks, David

I put front coils from a small block truck with HD suspension into a big block w/AC Suburban and didn't notice any changes at all. I think the original big block springs were pretty tired though.

Thanks Bob for ythe response. I have some small block springs from a 78 that I have been thinking about putting into my 72 with a big block. The ones I have in there now are uneven. Just trying to figure out what I want to do.....David

David,

I'd definitely change the springs if they are uneven. I changed mine because one of them was broken and it affected the handling. Depending on the rate of the springs you have, the front end may drop a little but the truck will be safer.

When I put in the big block in mine I might have had 1/2 inch drop at the most.
