front end locker question

i have a locker for a dana 44 front end. it is a locker that uses the existing differential. it takes the place of the spider gears, just like a mini spool but its a locker. i was debating on weather or not to istall it im my 70 blazer/pickup. does it unlock? does this type of locker work?

Thumbs up

It would unlock but your truck would develope new driving manners as the locker would want the vehicle to continue going straight. What type of off road would you be doing? If it's only snow/ice on the street driving you might want to not use it. But if it's sand/beach driving it could be a real benefit.

P.S. Welcome to the board!

Which Locker is it? It sounds like a lock right...I have used those in the rear of a truck or two not the front. I know one Guy that had a Detroit in the front of his ride when he was wheelin he would un-lock one side untill he needed the added traction then lock the other side and off he would go.

I had ARB's in my 83K5 when I would lock the front I made sure I was headed the way I wanted before I hit the button, So I would not put and un-due stress when I was rock hoppin.
