Another question...I'm full of them
Ok so I just bought this truck and have to learn about it and work some of the kinks out. I have one very strange thing happening that I noticed today. When I turn the wheel from side to side it actually raises one side of the truck. It almost looks like it has airbags or something lol. Any ideas what it might be?

That's the caster and camber of the steering, the weight of the truck keeps it going straight.

Yup, and the wider or more off-set your wheels are the more "lift" you get from this.

Yep both my Blazer and especially my huge '79. I would not worry about it. You got any pictures of the new truck?

Yes I do...they're on my yahoo profile. I drove the truck over 200 miles home from Sac without a problem and I have been driving it the last couple of days. So far so good, I havent found anything wrong. I changed all the fluids (which were REALLY dirty) and its ready to go

My 69' does the same thing but it has nothing to do with caster and camber. My front end moves up and down because of the steering box being connected to the driver's side knuckle. The drag link has to be perfectly level or it pushes up or pulls down as it turns the tires. The set up is safe as long as your box is attached to the frame tightly and the frame is sound. If it bothers you put cross over steering on it. It would cure the problem and give you a lot more suspension travel. I am going to convert mine very soon, maybe I will learn how to post pics by then!
