Need some help
OK, I'm in the middle of swapping around engine/trannies and have some questions.
First: From my pickup I'm taking out the 327 and TH-350 tranny and will be putting in a TPI 350 from an 89 Camaro and a 700r4 transmission from an unknown source (haven't gotten the tranny right now). The TPI 350 is currently in a 1982 Blazer with a T-5 tranny in it. My plan is to put the 327 into the blazer with the T-5. My question is what is a good source for a flywheel for the 327/T-5 combo. I'm told I can't use the current flywheel because it is for the one piece rear main seal on the TPI 350. I'm thinking an 85 Camaro 305 with the T-5 would be a good "donor" car to get one from (as far as the guy at the parts store is concerned. Will this work or is there something better, or will the one I have connected to the TPI 350 work? I also need an internally regulated alternator to put in the blazer. What source should I use for that. I don't want to mess with wiring up the external regulator from my truck into the blazer. The alternator on the 350TPI is just one wire, so its easy. Thanks for the help. Derek |
