Going to convert my 68 to an 83 front suspension. How many bolts hold the crossmember on. When others have done this, did you also get the brake lines? All the way to the master cylinder? Also putting rear disc on so do I really need to get the hard lines to the master clylinder if going from disc/drum to disc/disc. Did a search but not doing it right or something. Thanks Jay

I have never installed a late model front end, but on 67-72 trucks there are four bolts per side that slide through holes in the sides of the frame rails from the inside and thread into the crossmember, and there are three bolts and nuts per side that slide through the bottom of the frame rails and through the crossmember (kind of a pain to access from below). You'll also have to remove the engine mount towers, the Pitman arm and idler, and the sway bar, if you have one.

Thanks for the info. Talked the dude into just cutting the frame in front of the cab mounts. It will make it alot easier for me to tell then.
