SPEEDO cable for Autometer Dash bezel?
I bought an Autometer custom dash bezel made by a member on this forum..Was going to install it this weekend. I've read that the original speedo in my 86 will be a bit to short and plus I need one with a threaded end rather than the push and clip for the speedo head. does anyone know what cable will work as far as part number goes because the jobber in my town says his listings only go by application? not by dimension..the guage are mounted on the outside of the bezel and it has a THM700R4 tranny..thanks.

My son put the autometer speedometer as you mentioned, he used a 72 c-10 cable to make it work, it has the threaded end that you need.

You may have to experiment with it. It took 2 different cables before I got the right one for my truck and it ended up being a 57 inch one. I thought it was gonna be way to long, but it barely fit. Also, does your truck have a 2 piece or a 1 piece speedo cable? Mine has a 1 piece.

He had the 350th, yes get the longest one possible, but I'm not sure the setup on the 700r is the samee as a turbo 350. Also don't worry if there was a single or double cable, my 86 had a double going to the cruise, I bypassed it with a longer cable - one piece.

I can't remember what year I used but I think it was a 62 vette cable that fit perfect. I used the 61" cable and was a direct fit for both tranny and gauge.

After thinking about it overnight, I believe I may have misled you, it should be a 67 c10 cable not 72. We tried the 72 and realized it was still a cli on not a screw on that you need for autometer.

I think that it should be the same as long as the 700r4 is not the 93+ version which was the 4L60E. Those I think those took electronic speedos.

Best thing to do is take the gauge up there and tell them it's for the vette. Then make sure it fits the back of the guage. The other end looks like a end on a coax cable for a CB.

Lokar Cable from Jegs
I put the one from Lokar on. I bought it from Jegs and modified the length. It is a universal one.
