E-brake cable help
I tried the google search method but found nothing.
I replaced all the brake components on my truck. Before I did the e-brake did not work, I couldn't get enough tension on it. So when I did the brakes I replaced the cable under the truck. I don't know if I routed the cable correctly because the PO mangled the old one a bit. I thought I ran it correctly throught the loops. I have the cable adjusted all the way in and I have to pull the handle to the last notch before the brake engages . I know I got the right cable because I compared it to the old..the new was just a little bit shorter. Does anyone have a pic of the correct routing? It's a 68 c-10 2wd longbed fleetside with 250 3-speed manual. Any help is appreciated. Mike

Don't have a pic. Went through the same thing. I was missing the lil wire guides that go through the frame rail just ahead of the tranny crossmember. They keep the cable close to the frame rails closer to the first brake cable.

It's from the LMC catalog...I saw that right after it was posted...in my catalog. Completely forgot to check that out. The tabs after the metal loops...where are they? I may have missed them when I was putting the cable in. But I swear I didn't see anything like that. I'll have to double check when I go home again.
Thanks for the pic. Mike
