Depends on how good you are. There was a pic posted on here one time of a truck that had a 67-68 hood and a 71-72 grill and I thought it looked good. I pretty sure the truck was parked in front of the shop that did it. Now before you guys start in on me I know it is not a bolt on thing, but if you are not scared to cut and weld, anything is possible.

Any thing is possible but, it would be a whole lot easier to put the 71 grille in a 67-68 front clip than to try to modify fenders to hood to the.....bla bla bla

I thought the fenders would smooth up into the hood ok, is just the lower front lip on the hood thats the problem, i you cut/weld taht, and you'd need a 67-68 latch. what I've been told. atleast if you ahve the grill nd trim ring off with the 67-68 latch it will go on.

that a um interesting pic, btw a 67-8 chevy hood will fit on any 67-72 GMc probably, because all GMC use 67-8 chevy fenders

Hmmmmm, I know the fenders are different. Are they only different at the grill?

If you install a 67/68 hood, asuming it will clear the 69 up core support, it will leave a gap between the hood and grill.
If you look at a 69 and up GMC hood, the hood is back almost a 1/2 inch from the older style fenders. That is why GMC put the chromew top bar on there, to fill in this gap.
I can get a pic on my GMC if needed.
