Gas prices
How is the gas prices in your part of the country? Here is Western Kentucky it is now down to $1.99. Never thought I would be glad for the gas to be $1.99 a gallon. I remember (does not seem all that long ago) thinking "I bet it will get up to $!.00 a gallon before long". Now I am glad to see $1.99.

I paid $1.93 yeaterday for 87 octane at Sam's club. Gas is a little cheaper here, usually, than other places. We are close to refineries in the Houston and Corpus Christi areas, plus wages and the cost of living are really low here. Minimum wage jobs are common here, as is poverty.

Prices vary in the Portland metropolitan area. I've seen it as low as $2.39/gal to $2.69/gal for regular unleaded, depending which station wants to tack an extra profit. Shell is the highest, while Chevron and Union 76 is the lowest. A lot of times the stations pull the cash price advertised in small letters and when you get to the pump and hand them your gas card, whoops it's 10 cents more per gallon.

All the stations around me are $2.39...and they've been stuck there for a few weeks. It's quite weird....there's at least 8 stations within 6 miles of me, they're all the same price!

I would love to live in Hawaii. But I would have to get me a car that got at least 30 miles to a gallon of gas.

about complaining : here in belgium , Europe , I pay 1.3 € for one litre of gas ,which means 4.81€ for a gallon , which again means 6.13 US$ for a gallon , while gas costs only about 1/5 of 1 € the litre in production , all the rest is taxes... completely waco ; we pay V.A.T. on gas and we pay also an excise tax , on which , again , we have to pay V.A.T. who has to whine here ? But I also know I'm better off than Twin Turbo , from Holland , which pays a lot more than me... gretzzzz the Baron
