Lots of Quadrajet info
I just started disassembling the quadrajet that came on my 85. I was hoping to find the reason that it was running so rich that it would foul out a set of plugs in a week. Well, nothing too obvious yet... but I am hoping that if I pay attention to detail that I can succesfully rebuild it and get much better mileage than the 12mpg my holley gets. I have been following a manual I bought, but stumbled on this site a little while ago. It has some pretty good links for quadrajet information- so if anyone is trying to learn about these then you may want to browse around here http://www.florida4x4.com/tech/quadrajet/index.php

While you have it apart, you can also check out here... http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/garage_drivetrain.htm under "Air & Fuel Delivery." Didn't see it in the links page you posted.

Anyways, I put my Quadrajet back on today and it runs and accelerates extremely smooth. I'm at 3/4 tank now, so I will have a good figure on mileage after my next fill up. |

The reason that I bought the Holley was also because the quadrajet flooding. I mean, the plugs reaked of gas and I had to change them about every week. My 15 gallon tank got me 92 miles! Hopefully my Quadrajet isn't gonna flood out and act all wierd with me anymore, or else that Holley is going right back on.
