engine code help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I need some help figuring out what I have here.
Engine code is - F0425DE engine code - or FO425DE not sure if it is an "o" or zero "0" after the "F".

Judging by the suffix code DE it is probably a 68 307, 200 hp, 2 bbl carb. If there is a 68 date code on the engine than that would confirm it.

There are two other unlikely choices, a 62 283 or a 58 283.
