Hobart 135 WElder
Hey All,
I found a Hobart 135 MIG welder at Harbor Frieght for ~$439 or something close to that it was $40 off. Is this a good price for the welder and is it good for welding on body panels ?? Let me know what you all think of this welder and any others that work well for body welding. I have access to 120 and 240v plugs. Thanks!

I have a Hobart Handler 135 and it is a great little welder. Look around before you buy one from Horrible Fright. You can probably get a better deal from your local welding supply. When I bought mine, I think it was on sale for $429 and they threw in a big roll of flux core wire. Turns out the flux core wire is useless for me. Get a bottle of gas and a roll of good mig wire and you'll be putting out good welds in a very short time.

My local welding supply store has the Millermatic 135 for $529 including cart , regulator, and a spool of wire. Adding a brand new bottle of Argon/CO2 is another $99. I bought the next step up -- the 175 that runs off 230 volts. I highly recommend dealing with a local welding supply store, They will always be there for you when you need parts, service, or advice. The guys at my store even let me do some practice welding on one of their "demo" machines. If you buy something via mail order, you are on your own. To Harbor Freight, the only difference between a welder and a Chinese-made floorjack is the part number.

I got the Hobart 175. I haven't even fired it up yet! When I went looking for welders this place came up with the best prices and they are top notch in the welding supply business. Here is their web site http://www.tollgas.com They were selling on Ebay last year also and offered free shipping at the time. Not sure if they still are.
