This is what I started with - a pos '79 K20

The body was a little rough, so I start removing the rusty pieces.

And here I am out cruising in my new ride

Here is the scrap all loaded up and ready to go. The entire body from the '79 was in the bed of the '72 and in the other bed. The other bed was from a pick-up trailer, and I chopped up it's frame and threw the rearend and springs in too. There was 2,560 pounds in the bed of the old '72.

And here is how it sits now - with an '89 cab and front fenders on it. The rear has about 3" more lift that the front since the shacle flip, so I'll be bringing the front up 3" more to match. Sorry for the poor pics, it was close to dark.

that model cab seems to have alot more tyre to guard clearance than the earlier one!what sort of tray(bed) is going back on?

Looking good, can't wait to see more pictures when its all done. Should be a very sweet ride. I really liked the pictures of you driving around on the running gear.

Thanks for the compliments! It was fun driving around on just the frame and I got some funny looks from people. We threw the bench seat across the frame rails and me and two friends took it out for some wheelin' action, but didn't get any pics. I really like the way this cab looks on the frame. I don't have a long bed for it yet because the donor truck is a short bed, and I haven't made the cab mounts yet because I will wait until I have the bed on to make the body lines match up. Right now it's just sitting on blocks of wood between the body and frame. More pics as it progesses.

how much lift does it have and tire size. Hawgs look good on any truck. One cool ride

In the pics it has about 7" in the front and 10.5" in the rear. I still need to bring the front up 2" or 3" to match the rear. The Hawgs are 15/38.5-16.5

I also have some 35" General Grabber MT's that I may run on it.
