what does the connector that goes on the temperature thing look like? pictures if you have them please

No picture. The best description I can give is a small metal slide on connector that looks like the same thing you connect model train tracks with. The sending unit has a round end that the connector slips onto.

Yes, it connects to the spade end of the sending unit.

are you sure gchemist? it just stayed pegged out on past hot, i plugged in another connector just like it, and it moved on the gauge, did i plug the right wire in or is the one in the picture the right one,hopefully i got the right one, i guess i should drive it around and see how the temperature is.

pegged gauge does say that the gauge isn't getting a proper signal from the sending unit. Did you just swap engines? I put a 74 engine into my 80, and the temp gauge always read about 100 degrees too hot, so 295 was the normal position :P

I don't exactly understand the problem. Are you saying the gauge is always pegged?
There are different sending units for the gauge and the light. If thats not what your talking about, then forget this post. -Jeremy |
