C20 Rear...
Do the C20 diffs have bigger axles that the C10's?? That may be what I have... I need a C10 rear 6 OR 5 lug. If the C20's have bigger axles, then that would explain why the 5 lug axles I have won't fit the diff that I currently have. Maybe I just confused everyone. Someone help! Later, Mark

The c/20 axle is nothing like the C/10 axles.
The 20 bolts to the hub and has splines on the oposite end. a 10 axle has splines on the inner end, and a c clip on the same end to retain it. |

hey fuelcell guy i seen your wanting to buy 5 lug 12 bolt rearend in the parts board. I'm up in Oklahoma City and I might have one for you, but its at my buddies junkyard. I'll ask him tomorrow and see if he still has it and then i'll let you know.

Heavy half....that was later...late 70's early 80's.
Custom Camper...nothing but HD springs, shocks tires and a sway bar. That's it. |

Some 1/2 Tons came with 12 bolt GM rears and some had Dana 44's. That may be your problem. You may have Dana 44 axles and a 12 bolt rear, or vice versa. Look at you rear diff and count the bolts. If it has 12, it is a 12 bolt (you probably had that covered, huh? ) and if it has 10, it would be the Dana 44. I've never seen a Dana 44 with the coils springs in a 1/2 ton, but I'm not sure if they only came that way. The rear covers should look like either of the 2 below.

67_C-30, I know for a fact that it is a regular 12 bolt. I could use the diff that I have but I would have to have the axles redrilled.

The ones in the housing now have a larger diameter spline than the one I bought that were supposed to be 71-72 axles. That's kinda where I am at.

fuelcellguy - My buddy knows he sold one of those 12 bolt 5 lugs but think he might have one left. I'll let you know as soon as I do.
