What do you think of my 69/72?
I finished the grille up last weekend. I have been thinking about switching to the amber 67-68 parking lights. Any opinions?

The 69 lights are mounted to the radiator support. I don't really like the look of the lights in the bumper that's why I went this way. I should be able to do the same thing with the 67-68 lights.

Not at all I don't think just the amber lenses. I haven't seen any of the LED bulbs in amber for 69-70 but they do come in clear for 67-68 and 71-72.

The amber lenses will show up better in the daytime too. Less likely to get a second glance from the boys in the black and whites that way.

I've been running clear bulbs in the 69 grille I have on my truck, is that illegal or something?

Thanks for the tip, I'll be changing 'em tomorrow! I thought it looked awesome with clear bulbs/lenses, but if it's illegal I might as well save myself the trouble of gettin stopped.

I like the look. I think the grill will look better painted satin black with the emblem mounting tabs cut off and leave the emblem on the hood. You could also put driving or fog lights behind the grill.

Bumper needs to be replaced. I'd throw a 71-72 one one it and drop the lights. JMHO

I like the look. I'd lay the park lamps down, instead of standing them up. Shave the bowtie completely

I have a 72 chevy bumper and brackets I am thinking of putting on my 72 GMC. I will be leaving the GMC grill and turn signals intact and put fog or driving lights or a combination of both in the signal light holes.

Smooth front bumper, the turn signals are not noticable when they are off, what's not to like? I'd like to see a pic with the light off.
It looks alot like my setup on my Blazer with the billet grill (You copied me didn't ya? ). I like it and you should be proud. Good work, Roger

My dad used to have a 72 with the lights behind the grill like that. They were mounted horizontal though, not vertical. I don't mind it at all. Besides you don't really even see then unless they are on.
Later, Aaron

I LIKE THAT STYLE OF FRONT BUMPER & HAVE BEEN USING THAT SETUP FOR YEARS. I THINK IT MAKES THE FRONTEND VERY SANITARY. I'VE DONE THAT WITH 67/68 GRILLS ALSO. NICE WORK. JOHN

So did you just take the front outer grill of a 70-72 and mounted that..then turned your lights the other way? I have a 69 C20 that will need a new grill someday and thinking about getting one like yours but I didn't know what I was going to do with the lights. Thanks for the ideas.

I had a 72 parts truck that I got all of the 5 lug stuff off of and the grille. I pulled my 69 grille off and measured from the fenders for the park light placement. I then drilled a 3/4" hole for the light assembly to fit flush against the radiator support. Then drilled a hole in the park light and support, slipped a washer covered in silicone behind it to keep the water out, and screwed it down with a sheet metal screw. Put the grille assembly on and your all done. You can always use two screws on each one if you want or use a small bolt, lock washer, and nut.
