What vehicle should I get one off of? I have an edelbrock performer intake and don't know if there is a certain one that would fit better or not.

Bowtie Overdrive sold me a TV cable kit and bracket. The bracket was the same one for the turbo 350 cable! The transmission guy told me to send that sh$# back and he pulled out a universal cable and used the old turbo 350 bracket. He then attached it to to the carb where the old trans cable connected. He drove it down the road. Stopped, made an adjustment, and then sent me home.

Hmmmm, you might want to have it looked at by a more reputable tranny guy. That isn't the proper way to set it. Need pressure guages hooked up to the tranny.
The TV cable controls the amount of oil psi inside the tranny.

Longhornmail is absolutely right. The "factory" TH350 bracket and mounting stud on the carburetor is not positioned appropriately for the TV cable to work properly. You will need to move the cable mounting stud to a position which gives you immediate pressure rise as soon as the throttle begins to open, and pulls to full extension at WOT (but not so it stretches the cable, or resets the cable housing adjustment). You'll know if it is adjusted properly with the aforementioned pressure rise as soon as you depress the throttle pedal, and if it will do a 2 gear downshift (yes, two gears!) to first while rolling along slowly in 3rd gear. It will take a little trial and error to get the mounting stud in the correct position.

The cable does control line pressure inside the unit and djustment MUST be correct to eliminate tranny damage. Depending on your carb type, TPI makes a small bracket that bolts to the throttle lever of Holley carbs, it positions the cable mounting stud in a way to provide the proper line pressure throughout the entire throttle range. I have used this configuration for 4 years with no problems. Good luck

got mine at hi-po shop in town fits with my edelbrock ---- runs great cable and bracket about 25.00- 35.00 make sure you set it correctly---- the one I have has a ratcheting type do hickey for adjustment -- install everything then unclick lock full to just short of full throttle then lock down should work fine --
