I am in the process of finishing my 49 chev 1/2 ton 5 window. This truck is g eared very low. have driven a 53 chev with an overdrive transmission and it makes all the difference in the world.

All help is appreciated.

First let me say Welcome!

Next let me ask, Is this the same saginaw box that went into trucks up to '72?

Would it be the type that serves as the rear engine support with a rubber mount on each side? Hmm, now that I'm thinking about it that may only be the bell housing.

Annyway, If this is true you may also have luck finding this on the 67-72 parts board as well.

I will need to do more homework to see what may work in this truck.

Per your suggestion, I am going to go to the 67-72 board and see if I can generate a workable solution.
