F/s Restored Tach Dash
This is a dash that I had sold to a board member and something came up and he could not get it. This is a run down of what was done to this dash. All of the needles were repainted, all of the tins were media blasted and painted, the inner tin was painted white to help with the lighting, the gas, speedo, and tach plates were cleaned and clear coated, it has a new after market temp gauge and all new bulbs a new bezel, all of the nuts and bolts are either new or have been polished. The speedometer set back to zero. This is a very nice dash 375.00 shipped

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I had a question. On that temp gauge, looking at the back, what wire is the 12v and what wire goes to the sender? Are the other studs just structural?
Thanks, if I was in the market for a new tach dash, I'd buy yours. You'll at least get a bump out of this!

The temp gauge has a built in resistor and hooks up just as a factory one would only without the factory resistor.

Is there a seal between the gauge and the bezel? I don't know how these are constructed but I was reading another builders remarks about his products and he mentioned using a seal between the gauge and the bezel. Would the seal prevent dust and moisture plus reduce vibration?

No it is not a seal, it is little 1" rubber grommets that are in 6 spots or so that keep the lens tight between the bezel and the backing plate. The little 1" pieces lay in the bezel and the lens lays down on top of the rubber grommets. I think GM did this more so that the lens would not crack and it would reduce vibration, but I think that over the years you would still get some amount of dust in them. It would be nice if someone came up with a gasket of some sort that went completly around the lens

I can make a harness for you if you want the dash, if you are going to be running an HEI dizzy one wire goes to the dizzy and one goes to 12 volts. You can buy a repo one for about 18.00 bucks if you wish to go original.
