A guy in the San Diego area did that a few years back with a '70 or'71 short bed,
fleetside. It was one of the coolest looking trucks I have ever seen. He narrowed the dual rear end, tubbed the cargo box, and had all six of those big motorhome wheels tucked under the fenders. He said about the only problem he had was with that much stopping power on that light of a truck, he really had to feather-foot the brake pedal. If yours turns out anything like his did, it will be well worth the effort. rwgregory

I will keep progress pics of this coming,it will be a while but i am going to do it...The walls just fell off the camper, full of big black ants about 1 inch long, thousands of them and it was fun to destroy it... I cant go spend 15,000 bucks on a rollback,i traded a p.o.s. car for this that i had 400 bucks in the car..96 sunfire p.o.s. and then have parts here to get all together. Its title as an incomplete vechile, all i need to do is get it inspected by the highway patrol here, they issue a new title for it,simple...thats why i am doing it... And its not that much work when you have a wrecker to rip the body off...Hehehhe

And this thing is long, but when you need to hual a burb on it,then its right sized...Also has 4.56 gears too...120 gallon gas tank.. Its got a 15,000 gvw just on the chassis, now i burned 2 + tons of plywood crap off of it,so i know it will handle a car... |

I like your attitude and energy. Your imagination can be the designer for this project. What is the length of the wheelbase?
