getting my project started

I have a 67 3/4 ton lwb, and a 71 1/2 ton lwb. I am using the frame from the 71, for the disk brakes and 5 lug rotors. Also the 67 is a standard and the 71 is an automatic. I will be using the body off the 67 (except for the bed) and selling the rest off for project money.

Currently i am stripping both trucks down and selling what i can and scrapping the rest. I need some help deciding on how to go about this , i have little money to spend but want to do a total frame off restoration. So I know this will take me some time.

My plan was to sand blast and paint the frame from the 71, comepletely redo the brake system, put all new tie rod ends, ball joints, ect, and then i would be ready to drop in my tranny and engine. ( I'm using an OLds 455 With a T400)

After that i guess it would be a matter of exhaust and the then dropping on my cab. I have to make a custom riser in the floor, because im using rear bucket seats and console out of an 04 lincoln navigator. I am also planning on building a custom dash and interior.

I cant decide if I want to do a tilt front end or keep it stock. I want to get it all put together less the bed and then save up and buy an all new bed.

\ I think if i take my time and do this right I will still have to drive the grand am for a while, but when my truck is completed the finished result would be worth it.

If anyone has any suggestions please help. I would lovesome advice.

The only gotcha that i have heard on a Tilt front end and a daily driver is that they have no inner fenders which to me is not a reall good idea for a daily driver.....
