What type of hose should I use for the remote reservoir, I used heater hose for a temp fix and after about 2 weeks is already weeping.
Any insight is appreciated.

This was discussed awhile back and as I remember it ,Heater hose was the hose of choice .
If it's any consulation mine weep also.

I asked one of the Chevelle parts guys what they use and they told me heater hose also... I'm not too fond of the idear myself. Has anyone checked into the 'vette realm to see what they use????

Gates makes pS hose that will work on the system (I have it on mine). Go to local parts store and have them pull the gates catalog and the hose is located in the back - I think it can be gotten in 3 foot lengths. Harold

If this does not work for you find a business taht makes hoses. In Sacramento there is Sacramento Rubber. In Reno there is a place but I can't remember what ther ename is. Both of these places will make what you need and they know there rubber. I had a fuel line made for a friends 1947 Studebaker while in Reno two years ago. Perfect. I had power steering hoses made for my 62 Impala SS. Perfect, but I never started the car after I had them made.

When I replaced mine I went to a big rig parts house. They have oil rated hoses that size. I've had that hose in place for over 10 years now. No weeping or other problems.

My solution to the problem was vinyl tubing, which can be found at Home Depot or Lowes. I've been running it for about 5 years now with no problems. The heat hasn't seem to bother it, as the tubing is still as plyable as the day I put it on. Just in case tho, I keep a 4' piece under the seat with extra Dextron. It doesn't weep like heater hose. Cool thing is, being clear, you can see if the fluid is low everytime you pop the hood open, and its $CHEAP$. If you don't like the looks of it, you can alway wrap heater hose around the outside of it.
