What pound size radiator cap
What pound size radiator cap should I go with on a stock 350 with a brand new 3 core radiator?

You could go with a 15lb like what came stock with the truck. But if you still have a older heater core I'd go with something between 10 to 7 1/2 lb unit. Just to be on the safe side.

You really don't need anything more than an 11 lb cap. If you do the math on boiling points at pressures you will find that you are overheating the engine before you are boiling the coolant over with an 11 lb cap. Most will probably get away with the 7 lb cap. Less pressure means less stress on your cooling system.

The parts store was out of 11 lbs caps but they had a 13 lbs stant one so I grabbed that one. I put it on tonight. Didnt really notice a difference but I did notice that my antifreeze is a dark green. Must be time to change it.
