Lucky day..... **update on ramhorns*
Getting ready to install my vette ramhorns and thought I'd go ahead and take the stock ones off, replace the hardware, and put them back on. That way it will be easy for the muffler shop to bolt on the new ones before running the exhaust. I was expecting problems with the bolts but all 12 broke loose with a little tug. And all 6 nuts came off the studs. Did not break anything! You got to love it when something goes smooth when working on a 32 year old truck. Vette ramhorns will be on and 2.5" exhaust run through chambered mufflers by next weekend.........
6/27 They are on and with the 2.5" pipe, summit "welded" mufflers and exiting behind the rear wheels. Sounds great. Don't know what I was thinking when I put turbo mufflers on last March. Can actually talk while cruising on the highway. But put your foot on it, watch out sounds like a bat out of hell. I love it....

Randy, I sure will.
Jerry, That's what's got me baffled, tighten the power steering belt and nearly cut my finger off on my flex fan. I have broken studs on newer vehicles(half as old) and had to drill them out, so I just knew I was going to have a long day. Just have to take them as you get them. Everybody, In 1970 did the alternator bolt to the exhaust manifold or head or both? Mine is currently bolted to the head only. Looks like someone cut the mounts off of the left side exhaust manifold. This is just curiosity.

your alternator brackets bolt to the front of the head but the vette ramhorns had the alt/gen boss cast into the manifold. it gets in the way of your current alt bracket so it gets cut off--unless you want to run the 67-68 mounting brackets. hope this helps.
